Summary Statement

The role, based in Johannesburg, would have a twin focus across the South African and global asset management industries. The role would involve implementing our asset management insights proposition in South Africa and working with our global team to strengthen our proprietary studies and analysis in asset management in Europe.

This role suits a motivated, collaborative, and personable individual who possesses strong analytical skills, and an appetite to focus on the asset management sector within South Africa and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the implementation in South Africa of our global asset management insights proposition (already established in 16 countries worldwide), which would include structured executive-style interviews with industry participants

  • Analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data and results to generate and clearly articulate critical findings and insights

  • Supporting the delivery of insights and recommendations to our South African clients. Over time building rapport with key influencers and decision makers at current and prospective clients

  • Executing on global initiatives and responsibilities in collaboration with our global asset management team

  • Supporting and participating in a positive team environment locally and in your global interactions

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline (economics, finance, actuarial, engineering, law etc) and strong academic credentials (high GPA, honours, post-graduate qualification)

  • Over 3 years’ experience within the finance, insurance or asset management industries, or consulting within these industries

  • Highly motivated to learn and collaborative with a willingness to work effectively across global teams. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and verbal, and an interest in developing international experience (especially in Europe)

  • Proven analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and commitment to continually improve quality standards. High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • International exposure and experience (travel and/or work). European-language is an added advantage
