This role is responsible for scoping and implementing key internally focused projects aimed at supporting business operations across NMG’s global and dispersed practices. The role will largely focus on managing multiple operational or process-improvement based projects.

Summary Statement

This role is responsible for scoping and implementing key internally focused projects aimed at supporting business operations across NMG’s global and dispersed practices. As well as enhancing overall discipline and rigour, a key focus will be placed on driving improvements to operational systems, processes and procedures and the generation of efficiencies, increased productivity and adoption of new technology.

The role will largely focus on managing multiple operational or process-improvement based projects. Excellent stakeholder communication is key, along with the ability to working closely across multiple functions (IT, human capital, marketing, legal/compliance, finance), forging strong partnerships with business heads and supporting the COO to meet and exceed strategic business requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: a) overseeing multiple internally focused projects with varying dynamics and complexities, managing delivery within a defined scope, quality and schedule; b) providing internal project oversight, leadership, and stakeholder and vendor relationship management; c) monitoring and reporting on all aspects of these projects including progress, forecasted hours, risks, communications and critical issues; and d) providing tracking metrics of internal project performance, progressing these to senior stakeholders.

  • Business Improvement: a) applying a continuous improvement and innovative mindset to all that you do, ensuring that both incremental and large-scale improvement and efficiency opportunities are surfaced, discussed and where appropriate, implemented; b) maintaining a strong business understanding of NMG and how the identified projects will improve the ability of NMG to deliver services to its clients; c) specifically, driving ongoing improvements to management reporting, information flow and management (EDI transmission & data integrity), business process and procedures; and d) presenting to the executive committee and broader business on strategic goals, progress and metrics of projects under your remit.

  • Operational Excellence: a) providing consulting, training and partnering on matters related to business processes; b) contributing to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy; and c) driving initiatives in the team and organisationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence.

  • Operational Support: a) supporting operational tasks and projects as required by the COO and business; and b) as needed, providing ad hoc support around operational requirements such as crafting training materials, responding to risk/audit reviews, etc.

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree ideally with some programming, analytics or statistical background and at least 5+ years professional experience, ideally within a management consulting, or "Big 5" consulting organisation and/or exposure to financial services.

  • Experience in managing stakeholders and interacting with senior level executives in a professional services firm in an international and complex environment; the ability to get on with all levels of people and be a good influencer.

  • Highly structured and process oriented with a track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget; demonstrated experience of successfully setting up, managing and delivering multiple projects with a technology and process improvement element.

  • Able to write credible documentation and communicate effectively; strong analytical as well as organisational skills with an ability to manage conflicting demands; Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps) and SQL, and some familiarity with formal project management tools (e.g. MS-Project, Visio, Smartsheets, JIRA, etc.) are a plus.
