Summary Statement

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Insights this is an exciting permanent full time opportunity within our London practice for an individual who is seeking to further advance their career in an insights-based consulting environment.

The role will manage the implementation and delivery of strategic insights projects (qual and quant based) primarily within the UK and work closely with senior colleagues to develop insightful analysis, support delivery and report creation, supervise analysis and model development, contribute to thought leadership studies and drive the vision for improvement and expansion.

This position will suit a self-motivated individual who possesses strong technical research and analytical skills in addition to excellent client management abilities. Responsible for project management, fieldwork and client delivery, immersion in our methodologies will be critical for success, along with the ability to articulate and debate insights and key messages with senior executives. Over time you will be considered a key source within the market for critical insight and analysis.

Some travel within the role may be required, estimated to be around 20%, depending upon location and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen NMG’s strategic insights proposition by designing and implementing high quality and impactful projects for clients; project management and delivery (client management, content creation, fieldwork management, data analysis) across qualitative and quantitative methodologies, domestic and international.

  • Interpretation of project outputs and results to articulate critical findings and insights; input on resourcing and project allocation on programs; utilise the collective expertise and resources across all divisions of the NMG Group in order to fully exploit our “information advantage” and improve the quality of our client offering.

  • Engage with colleagues and associates to leverage capabilities and methodologies across the group; contribute to business development and build relationships with decision makers at target/potential clients; work closely with the Analysts and Consultants on various projects, and act as a point-person to discuss and agree the priorities of queries and ad hoc requests as required.

  • Proactive development of new content, insights and thought leadership for clients and for NMG publications, engaging with clients on topics and industry themes.

  • Line management responsibility for the Recruitment Manager role (1 headcount).

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification, ideally in a business, marketing or analytics related discipline; 5 years+ of experience, preferably in a marketing, research, analytics or consulting role.

  • Knowledge of the Financial Services market essential, preferably in wealth or asset management; consulting / research agency experience an advantage.

  • Strong interest in marketing strategy, distribution, consumer behaviour; quantitative analysis skills, with demonstrable comfort with numbers and analytics; strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience of using survey platform tools including Confirmit, Qualtrics; excellent attention to detail and high quality standards; ability to manage multiple projects.

  • A strategic and creative thinker who is highly self motivated and capable of independent and team work; high level of enthusiasm for the industry, a positive attitude, energetic approach, curiosity and willingness to learn; ambitious, looking for ownership of clients and projects.
