Summary Statement

The person selected for this role will drive growth of the NMG consulting proposition within insurance in the US, combining our extensive proprietary IP with their deep industry specialization and a consulting toolkit to further build out our franchise.

The individual will be responsible for designing and playing a leading role in client strategy engagements, as well as making an active contribution to the ongoing development of our research programs. All with a view to fully exploiting our “information advantage”, ultimately improving the quality and clarity of client decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Global Partner and existing team to refine and execute the strategy for NMG’s consulting practice in the US; Sit on the NMG Consulting North American Leadership Team, contributing to and delivering strategic projects across the organisation globally

  • Lead client engagements and contribute to NMG-owned IP including in the Insights division; Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding the client base and revenue streams

  • Drive the development and execution of business development strategies within the analytics research and consulting business lines; Stay informed about industry trends and changes, providing insights to inform business strategies

  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and pitches for business development activities; Contribute to content delivery, ensuring that reports and analyses meet the needs of clients and stakeholders

  • Develop relationships with relevant individuals in the relevant market segment/s across North America

  • Establish industry thought leadership through the development and promotion of original research or insights

  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to a team of direct reports to ensure their ongoing progression and development

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • More than 8 years’ industry experience within industry-specific consulting and/or industry, with significant domain expertise preferably across voluntary benefits and one or more of the following: individual life insurance, group life insurance, life annuities, reinsurance

  • Demonstrable strategy consulting experience in the management of projects with clients relating to competitive strategy, industry projections, product development, operating model reviews, market entry, M&A, implementation of significant change projects and resourcing solutions

  • Exceptional quantitative abilities, business modelling and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards

  • A commercial understanding and a drive to innovate

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage with clients, present clear arguments and manage client relationships
