Summary Statement

We are offering an exciting opportunity within our Reinsurance business line for an individual seeking a consulting role in the Life & Health Reinsurance sector. This role provides the opportunity to work with a team shaping our L&H Reinsurance Studies globally. The focus will be on supporting the Principal Consultant with the management and delivery of the reinsurance Insights propositions in Europe, the UK and Middle East, including design, implementation and client delivery, enhancing the profile and value of our reinsurance programmes globally. Over time the successful candidate will be considered a subject matter expert and trusted adviser for critical insights and analysis in this field. Immersion in our methodologies will be critical for success, along with the ability to articulate and debate insights and key messages with colleagues and executives. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to develop insightful analysis, contribute to consulting assignments and drive continuous process and insights improvements.

While the role will largely focus on supporting the execution and client delivery of the Studies in Europe, the UK and Middle East, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to drive efficiency gains globally, including improvements to data management and operational systems, standardisation of processes and procedures, using new technologies to increase team productivity.

This position will suit a motivated individual with credible experience in the primary insurance or reinsurance industry, who possesses strong technical and analytical skills in addition to excellent inter-personal abilities. Excellent stakeholder communication is key, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to work closely with multiple functions and disparate teams, forging strong partnerships within the business and with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing key deliverables of the Studies, including topic coverage, insights development, analytics review and articulating critical findings to clients

  • Collaborating with NMG specialists who have developed similar programmes, ensuring application and collaboration around global best practice. Maintaining and building a network of industry contacts and over-time developing rapport with key client decision makers through proactive engagement on topics and industry themes

  • Applying a continuous improvement and innovative mindset to all that you do, ensuring that both incremental and large-scale improvement and efficiency opportunities are surfaced, discussed and where appropriate, implemented

  • Undertaking analysis, accessing our proprietary data sets to generate ideas and insights through the NMG thought leadership program

  • Living the NMG Values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Go for it and Make it Count in all interactions across the business, supporting and participating in a positive team environment locally and globally

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • Over 5 years’ experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry (or consulting in the same), with exposure to one or more areas of client management, underwriting, product development / design, actuarial, strategy or product marketing functionalities. Life reinsurance experience is an advantage.

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and strong academic credentials. Able to write credible documentation and communicate effectively. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps) and SQL, a plus

  • Highly structured and process oriented with a track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget. Familiar with change management and risk mitigation practice and strategies. Experience of large scale research projects and production of findings and collaterals. Experience in managing stakeholders and interacting with senior level executives in a professional services firm in an international and complex environment

  • Highly motivated to learn, collaborative by nature and able to work effectively within and across global teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and interest in developing client relationships

  • Proven analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and committed to high quality standards. Proficiency in European languages a plus (but not mandatory)
