Demonstrating a real passion and deep interest in financial markets and financial services business, our Consultants are responsible for the development of insights and quality output on projects, building client relationships and contributing to strategic consulting assignments.

This position will suit a self-motivated individual who possesses strong technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, a passion for client service and delivery. This role will be responsible for developing insightful analysis, building relationships with clients, contributing to strategic consulting assignments, and driving the vision necessary for developing our offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading strategic projects with support from a team of Consultants/Senior Consultants, working collaboratively with other Principals and Partners. This includes consulting and analysis to an extremely high standard, commensurate with NMG’s value proposition and client expectations

  • Leading a team to provide financial & commercial analysis to clients for business strategy formulation and transformation plans based on market intelligence, financial models, and analysis; Maintaining and building a network of industry contacts and identifying opportunities for new business

  • Establishing analytical frameworks and conducting complex business analyses

  • Utilising the collective expertise and resources across all divisions of the NMG Group to fully exploit our “information advantage,” improving the quality of our client offering; Ensuring project objectives benefit broader client strategy across the Consulting business

  • Contribute to NMG thought leadership and IP

  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to a team of direct reports as required to ensure their ongoing progression and development

  • Contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative team culture, demonstrating the NMG Values of Curiosity, Collaboration, Make it Count and Go for it! in everything that you do

Competencies, Qualifications & Experience

  • Considerable experience in the Financial Services industry (a minimum of 8+ years), within a consulting role, with strong understanding of and experience in wealth or asset management sectors; Tertiary qualifications with excellent academics

  • Experience in commercial due diligence projects is highly desirable

  • Proven analytical skills, the ability to draw insights from complex data sets, excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards; Exceptional quantitative abilities, business modelling and analytical skills

  • An ability to develop relationships with clients and influence the thinking of key decision makers, making strategic contributions and leading presentations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with a senior audience

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities i.e. the ability to empower, mentor and develop others and bring them along the journeywork independently, take initiative, and be hands-on in delivering high-quality work
